At the beginning of December, Ukrainians in Calgary can look forward to yoga sessions, carol singing, a children’s play, a Christmas concert by Oksana Mukha, and the opportunity to write a letter to Santa Claus.


Women’s Business Club Meeting with a Beauty Industry SMM Specialist

November 30, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM


About the event. This time, the Women’s Business Club has invited Eugenia, an SMM specialist with four years of experience, including two and a half years in the beauty industry. She will share how beauty professionals can promote their services on Instagram with ease and enjoyment. Topics covered during the meeting include: providing high-quality services while attracting new clients via social media, creating compelling self-presentations, filming and editing videos, mastering Stories and Reels, and understanding content and reach to make self-promotion a pleasure.

Calgary Carol Festival

November 30, December 1 & 2, 7:00 PM


About the event. The Ukrainian choir Pereveslo will participate in Calgary’s oldest winter festival, established in 1978. This three-day event supports the local food bank through donations. The Ukrainian choir will perform on November 30 – come and show your support!

Yoga Day

About the event. For those feeling overwhelmed by the rush of everyday life, here’s a calming event for you. Artem Rusynov, a yoga instructor based in Edmonton, regularly organizes retreats for like-minded individuals. This time, Artem will visit Calgary for a one-day, two-hour yoga session. His lecture-practicum, “Breathing and Meditation,” will explore breathing techniques as tools for deeper meditation.

Children’s Play: “The Christmas Story”

December 1 at 2:00 PM; December 8 at 3:00 PM


About the event. The Ukrainians of Calgary Association (UOCA) invites families to a children’s winter play, The Christmas Story. Directed by Anna Lupeko, this enchanting production highlights themes of friendship, sincerity, and Christmas miracles. The play is designed to bring joy to children, share Ukrainian Christmas traditions, and inspire belief in magic.


All proceeds will support the purchase of medical supplies and equipment for hospitals in Ukraine.

Christmas Concert “Rejoice!” by Oksana Mukha

December 1, 6:00 PM


About the event. Oksana Mukha, winner of The Voice of Ukraine Season 9 and a singer from Lviv, will perform a Christmas concert in Calgary. Her program includes festive songs and carols such as “Rejoice, O People! The Son of God is Born!”, “Shchedryk”, “Silent Night”, “God is Born”, “Good Evening to You”, “A Star Has Risen in the Sky”, and “God Was Born in a Sleigh”. Mukha considers her Christmas concerts a beloved tradition and an integral part of the holiday season.


This charity concert supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Letter to Santa Claus

Until December 6


About the event. For over 40 years, Santa’s Post Office has been delighting children across Canada. Ukrainian children can write a letter to Santa and are guaranteed a response. Letters do not need to be written in English, as Santa’s multilingual elves can assist with replies in Ukrainian. To send your wishes or drawings, simply prepare an envelope. No postage is required. Be sure to include a return address, and drop it off at any postal office or mailbox. Multiple letters from one household can be sent in a single envelope.
