Creative Workshop: Ukrainian Retro Christmas Postcards

About the event. Artist, interior designer, and tattooist Oksana Krutko invites everyone to a creative workshop hosted at the UCAN Radio space. She will demonstrate traditional Ukrainian motifs and techniques to help participants craft beautiful, unique cards that capture the magic of the season.

Holodomor Memorial

About the event. The Ukrainian Canadian Congress invites the community to join the annual commemoration honoring the millions of victims of the 1932–1933 man-made famine-genocide.
The Holodomor stands as one of history’s most horrific crimes, the result of Stalin’s deliberate political strategy and his totalitarian communist regime. In May 2008, Canada officially recognized the Holodomor as genocide and established a National Day of Remembrance. Similar legislation has been passed in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
Additionally, on Friday, November 22, candles will be lit at the Holodomor Memorial in Calgary (Crescent Heights), an event organized by the Ukrainian Youth Association Calgary Branch.
