Safety Initiative for New Canadians: You and the Law

About the event. The Centre for Newcomers is hosting a webinar on local laws. This two-hour session will cover topics such as how the local police operate, when and how to contact officers, and the differences between calling 911 and a non-emergency line. It will also address domestic violence reporting and support resources, as well as traffic violations and penalties. The session will be conducted in English.

Workshop: How to Launch Your Food Business in Canada Without Breaking the Bank!

About the event. This workshop is ideal for those looking to start their own restaurant, cafe, or bakery in Canada. Anna Stepanets, who opened her own bakery-cafe in Edmonton five years ago and now runs two locations, will share her insights. She will cover essential topics like selecting a location, finding funding, and obtaining necessary licenses and certifications. With her extensive experience, Anna will also discuss brand building, strategy, and share both successes and challenges in the food business.

Gerdan Theatre Performance

November 16, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM 


About the event. The Gerdan Theatre, a folk singing ensemble that brings together talented artists from Chernivtsi, Bukovyna, and other regions of Ukraine, is coming to Calgary.


The group is touring Canada with a new musical production, which has already been performed in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon. They are now scheduled to perform several concerts in Alberta.


Their tour supports Ukrainian families affected by the war who are in need of rehabilitation.

Big Saturday Gulba in Dreamers

November 16, 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM


About the event. The organizers of Ukrainian dance parties are throwing a lively event featuring the return of Anastasia, known for lighting up the dance floor. Regular attendees of Gulba parties know what to expect! Part of the ticket proceeds go toward supporting Ukraine; over 21,500 CAD has already been raised.

STRUM Theatre Seeks Volunteers

Late November – December


About the event. The STRUM Ukrainian Theatre in Calgary is planning a reprise of "Muza" and is preparing a new winter production, "The Snow Queen." They are looking for volunteers to assist with the performance, including welcoming guests at the entrance and guiding them to their seats. If you want a behind-the-scenes look at the world of theater, this is a great opportunity for you.
