As October begins, Ukrainian in Calgary can look forward to discussions on Alberta Opportunity Stream updates, a stretching class, a Ukrainian theatre performance, a dance party, and travel adventures.


Alberta Opportunity Stream Updates meeting

October 1, 6:00-8:00 PM

About the event. UCAN Radio will host one of the most anticipated events for newcomers with at least one year of work experience in Alberta. On September 30, the Alberta Immigration Office will announce new conditions for the Alberta Opportunity Stream program. Consultants and lawyers are predicting significant changes that will have a fundamental impact. All Ukrainians planning to apply for Permanent Residency through this program will have the first opportunity to hear expert legal insights and ask urgent questions.


The event's speaker is Rowan Fisher, an immigration lawyer with extensive experience, leading a team that focuses on working with Ukrainian immigrants. Notably, she has been directly involved in government working groups, offering unique insider knowledge. Olha Senkovych, Immigration Clients Coordinator at Osuji & Smith Lawyers, Immigration Division, will provide a Ukrainian translation of the speech.

Stretching Class

About the event. Stretching coach Anna Kulikova is celebrating her birthday with a unique class. On Wednesday, she’ll be hosting a session with a photoshoot. Watching Anna’s reels showcasing her flexibility and exercises is a special treat, and for those aspiring to achieve the same grace and poise, spots are limited to only 10 participants.

Theatre Performance "How to Grow a Husband at Home"

About the event. The Ukrainian theatre "Personalities" is bringing their comedy show, "How to Grow a Husband at Home", to Calgary. Starring Irma Vitovska and Oleksiy Hnatkovskyi, the play tells the story of a successful woman who’s missing true love. The actors will engage the audience with improvised scenes. If you’ve enjoyed the previous two Ukrainian performances we've mentioned, you won’t want to miss this one!

100% UKRAINIAN GULBA

October 5, 9:30 PM

About the event. The organizers of Ukrainian dance parties are throwing a 100% UKRAINIAN GULBA night. The event will feature Ukrainian music from DJ Viki and DJ Max Sakaev, along with prize raffles for all attendees who arrive before 11:30 PM.

October tour by UA Calgary Travel

October

About the event. Calgary Travel has released their October tour schedule, offering a variety of trips. On October 1, 2, and 3, you can visit Moraine Lake. On October 12, there will be a new 60 km cycling tour from Canmore to Banff, along one of Canada's most scenic routes – the Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail. Other options include lake tours, a two-day trip with an overnight stay to British Columbia, a tour to the hot springs, and a hike to the Jasper glacier.
